This policy includes our credit reporting policy and explains how Multi Financial Solutions Pty Ltd ACN 119 055 435 manages personal information collected in connection with a credit application or credit facility.

Our privacy commitment

Personal information

When you apply for finance, we may also collect information about dependants and cohabitants, your residential history, employment details, and evidence of income and expenses. We may collect credit information, including outstanding finance, repayment history and defaults, to assess eligibility for finance.
Why we collect information
We collect personal information to assess and manage finance applications, provide credit assistance, prepare loan or lease applications, process payments, manage our relationship with you, and provide information about loan products and related services.
We may also collect information when you apply for employment or to become a finance broker with us. From time to time, we may use or disclose personal information to tell you about products or services that may interest you. You can opt out of marketing offers at any time. We do not sell personal information.
How we collect and disclose information
Where reasonable and practical, we collect information directly from you. We may also collect it from credit reporting bodies, finance brokers, accountants, lawyers, referees and other relevant sources.
We may disclose information to organisations that help us provide services, including mortgage intermediaries, lenders, valuers, lenders’ mortgage insurers, surveyors, accountants, credit reporting bodies, recoveries firms, debt collectors and lawyers. We may also disclose information to organisations with, or considering, an interest in your finances or our business.
Credit information
We may collect and exchange credit information with credit reporting bodies and other entities. This can include credit liability information, repayment history, the type of finance requested, default and payment information, and court proceedings information.
We use this information to assess finance applications and manage finance. It may be stored securely in electronic or paper form, including cloud storage. We may obtain publicly available information and information about serious credit infringements, and may disclose credit information to overseas entities that perform support functions for us.
Notifiable matters
We exchange credit information with credit reporting bodies to assess creditworthiness, assess applications and manage finance. If payment obligations are not met, or a serious credit infringement occurs, we may disclose this information to a credit reporting body.
You can ask a credit reporting body not to use your credit information for pre-screening credit offers. If you believe you may be a victim of fraud, you may contact a credit reporting body to request protection. For more information, contact Equifax, Dun & Bradstreet or Experian.
Keeping information accurate
Please let us know if your personal information changes. We generally rely on you to ensure the information we hold is accurate and complete.
Sensitive information
We collect sensitive information only with your consent. This may include information about racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, trade or professional memberships, sexual preferences, criminal record or health.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Information may be stored in secure paper and electronic environments.

For other questions about how we manage personal or credit information, contact complaint@multifinancial.com.au. If we cannot resolve a credit information complaint within 30 days, we will explain why, advise the expected timeframe and discuss an extension. You may also contact an external dispute resolution scheme or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
